Becoming a Community Member

There are several different levels of community membership: Subscriber, Contributor, Author, and Editor.

  • Subscriber: The lowest level of membership. To become a subscriber, you just need to log in to the community homepage using your GeoPlatform account.
  • Contributor: The lowest level that can see private community content. Contributors can also create posts, but the can’t publish them. To become a Contributor, you must first be a subscriber and then fill out the form below and get approval from the community lead.
  • Author: Create, edit, and publish your own content and view all community private content. To become am Author, you must first be a subscriber and then fill out the form below and get approval from the community lead.
  • Editor: This is the highest role a community member can have. Editor can create, edit, and publish content, view all community private content, and customize the look and appearance of the community space. To become an Editor, you must first be a subscriber and then fill out the form below and get approval from the community lead.

Note: All levels of community membership require a GeoPlatform.gov account. If you do not already have an account, you can create one here: https://accounts.geoplatform.gov/register

New Member Form

This form is for any new community member that would like to be a Contributor, Author, or an Editor. Once the new member is approved, they will also need to sign and return two Rules of Behavior documents.
