The 15 October 2018 release of GeoPlatform.gov, "Release 13" or "R13", includes the following improvements:
Community Tool Kit (CTK 1.3)

https://www.geoplatform.gov/help/ccb/ccb-ctk

  • CTK provides standardized, configured, and tested WordPress themes and plugins for improved Dynamic Digital Community experiences within the GeoPlatform ecosystem.
  • The open source PHP code makes the CTK plugins doubly useful as examples for creating your own custom plugins and using the GeoPlatform Open API.
  • For R13, numerous defect fixes and UI improvements to CTK themes and plugins have been implemented
  • All Geoplatform themes (CCB default, NGDA Theme, and GeoPlatform Portal) have been significantly refactored to follow best-practices for improved compatibility to support enhanced features. These are known as the “version 3” GeoPlatform themes. Significant feature enhancements for themes include:
    • custom category and community posts,
    • the ability to control the presentation order of featured (category) cards and posts,
    • customize-able menu.
  • The GeoPlatform Community Search plugin is now available (with other GeoPlatform plugins) from the WordPress Marketplace.
    • CTK plugins approved by the WordPress Plugin Review Team are available for distribution in the WordPress Marketplace. The WordPress review and approval process (https://make.wordpress.org/plugins/) is used to ensure all plugins meet basic standards and follow best practices and thus are broadly usable in WordPress and compatible with 3rd-party components.
  • Updated documentation, including CTK guidance for developers of themes and plugins:
Core Community Bundle (CCB)
  • CCB’s are tested bundles of capability for creating and sharing topical, dynamic content within Community Spaces.
  • In R13, enhancements include streamlined (automated) deployment of CCB instances for rapid provisioning of Community Spaces
  • All CCB instances were upgraded to the new WordPress 4.9 distribution for improved security and features.
Resource Performance Module (RPM 1.1)
  • The GeoPlatform infrastructure is now instrumented for collection, analysis, and reporting utilization metrics for GeoPlatform Portfolio Assets including Datasets, Services, Layers, Maps, Galleries, Pages and Posts, whether they’re used by a Community instance or accessed anywhere within the GeoPlatform ecosystem.
  • For R13, collection of metrics for CRUD (create, read, update, delete) events on Portfolio Objects have added at the Open API level.
  • Reporting enhancements allow metrics on individual objects to be listed and interrogated by human-readable labels for listed Portfolio Objects.
  • Hyperlinks to full detail about Portfolio Objects are available through the reporting dashboard.
Object Editor

https://oe.geoplatform.gov/

  • The primary management tool for creating, augmenting, and linking Datasets, Services, Layers, Maps, Galleries, and Communities as a portfolio of GeoPlatform business objects.
  • Enrich and link GeoPlatform objects with other GeoPlatform objects and external web resources
  • In R13 there are numerous updates for more robust import of metadata and registering objects from external sources
  • Enhancements and defect fixes for presentation of object links
  • Significant presentation-level updates for “Section 508” compliance and other usability improvements.
